My parents shouts at me for every mistake I make and this makes me  scared of making moves especially new ones,i can’t even answer question in class because I am scared i will be wrong and the teacher will also shout at me..

When i was 13,I was wrongly accused of stealing my dad’s money with his wallet which i was beaten for,the following day,the purse was found in his car with the money intact,he jokingly apologized but since then,i feel scared and nervous whenever someone around me is looking for something…

Many more stories of how children’s esteem have been ruined and their confidence shattered.
One of the most important and distinctive feature of Africa parenting is discipline and over the year,this has been a great tool in moulding kids to be properly behaved.However,a close look at Africa showed 60-70% of Africa kids have esteem issues and this can be traced to their upbringing.
Esteem is one of many harms assumed discipline has caused in Africa.
Many can’t relate to love and peace with their parents.
Why do most African kids trust to tell another person of their pain or advisory based matter and not their parents.
Parents scold more than correct or counsel in Africa.
Parents in Africa rebuff more than instruct.
Every mistake comes with a punishment.
Discipline seems to have done more harm emotionally than good.
Does it means discipline should be erased?Definitely not!!!!
